When a dog’s coat becomes matted, it can pull on the skin, cause discomfort and lead to skin issues. In these cases shaving is the most humane way to remove these mats. Dematting by brushing or combing can be very painful and stressful for your dog, so clipping your dog short ensures their comfort and wellbeing.
Because grooming a matted dog takes extra time, care and puts additional wear on grooming equipment, there is an additional charge for this service.

Most dogs benefit from grooming every 6-8 weeks but it will depend on their breed, coat type and lifestyle. Regular grooming helps keep their coat healthy, prevents matting and makes the process easier and more enjoyable for your dog. I can recommend the best schedule for your dog after their first visit.

It is totally normal to want to be close to your pup during the grooming process or to feel anxious about leaving them. However, dogs often get excited, restless or even anxious when their owner is nearby which can make the grooming process harder and less safe. I find dogs settle much quicker once their owner has left, and this helps keep the whole experience stress-free for them.

No. Never. Absolutely not. I use gentle handling, lots of patience and plenty of reassurance. If your dog is too stressed by the grooming process, I may suggest a visit to the vet to discuss other options like a sedated groom which must be done by a vet.

Most grooms are completed within 1.5-3 hours depending on the size, breed and grooming style requested. All dogs are taken by appointment so your dog will not be waiting around all day to be groomed. We will notify you by text when your dogs grooming session is nearly over.

Once your puppy has had all their vaccinations (around 12-16 weeks) they’re ready for their first visit.

Their first groom is all about fun and positive experiences - just a bath, a gentle brush, nail trim and plenty of cuddles. It helps them feel comfortable and happy about grooming for life.

Early grooming helps your puppy get used to being bathed, brushed and handled in a calm, positive way. It builds confidence, prevents fear or anxiety later, and makes future grooming stress-free for both you and your pup.
